Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Are you wanting to gain experience supporting patients and their whanau in planning for elective surgery/ procedures?
We have an opportunity for a proficient/expert RN to work within the elective service team to support patients and family prepare for their surgery procedure. The role includes working alongside the CNS/SCNs triaging, preparing patients for surgery. The role supports a range of surgical procedures. This role includes triaging, phone assessments with patients and whanau, it includes communicating with the wider health care team to ensure the patient is prepared and ready for their procedure.
This role is focused on equity and access across our communities.

Mōu | About you
Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- Registered Nurse minimum 2 years’ experience in a surgical speciality
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A current practicing certificate
- Competed a Professional Development and Recognition Programme at proficient and/or above
- A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability, flexibility and agility
