About the Role
We are seeking experienced casual registered nurses who will embrace the challenge of rural nursing.
This role will be predominantly working in the Emergency Department at Tokoroa Hospital. In line with our workforce plan we are developing skilled staff that can cover many areas within the team.
About the Team
The emergency department at Tokoroa Hosptial is a busy rural emergency department seeing approximately 13,500 presentations per year. The emergency department is staffed by senior medical officiers, alongside a team of experienced nurses and senior nursing leadership.
Tokoroa Hospital also has a 17 bed inpatient unit, a four bed primary birthing unit, outpatients department serviced by visiting specialists and community services.
GP practices and other health providers are co-located on the site.
Tokoroa Hospital is part of the Waikato District of Health New Zealand and is located centrally in the North Island of New Zealand.
Tokoroa boasts a natural beauty of pine trees, forestry, and rolling green hills of dairy farming. Rotorua, Taupo, Ruapehu skifields, and Tauranga beaches are all easily accessible within a 1 - 1 ½ hour drive. Here you can access some of the most exhilarating outdoor activities ranging from lake, river and mountain activities, snow skiing, hunting, trout fishing, glow worm caves and rafting.
About you
·
NZ work visa & current Annual Practicing Certificate;
·
Experience working as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand;
·
3 years post graduate experience and/or escort or transfer of patient experience;
- Triage and/or plastering skills would be desirable.

Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
·
Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
