The Our Future Services programme will deliver a more cost-effective immigration system that is more productive, more effective at managing immigration risk, and provides a better experience for our customers and staff.
The programme will be delivered through multiple workstreams working in parallel, with each workstream implementing key initiatives with set milestone dates.
You will be part of the Partnerships and Performance Branch within Corporate and Digital Shared Services. As a Release and Environments Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that releases are delivered successfully without service interruption across a number of different environments.
You will take ownership of planning and coordinating software and platform releases across multiple workstreams while seeking to continually improve ways of working. The role will work closely with other teams to ensure that environments are kept current and fit for purpose, and processes are reviewed and updated regularly.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to communicate technical information to the understanding of a layperson
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to influence and persuade, is comfortable championing processes across multiple user groups, adjusts style to needs of audience
- Sound relationship management skills – able to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong organisational skills – able to prioritise and effectively manage competing demands without any loss of quality or service
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Release and Environment management including modern deployment practices using Azure Services, Pipelines, Containers, and Service Virtualisation, as well as on-Prem processes
- Experience with automation and integrating workflows an advantage
- Has demonstrated experience in working and integrating with SaaS products
- Experience in Cloud Tenancy Modelling and Management
- A curious mind and a desire to learn about technical innovations and how they may be applied to the MBIE environment
- Agile and DevOps delivery methodology/experience is desired
