Te Papa is looking for a casual Research Assistant to assist in its visitor studies and market research work. The main task of the Research Assistant is to conduct face-to-face exit interviews with visitors to Te Papa. This role is ideal for those looking to develop work-based interviewing skills they may find useful in future studies and careers.

Applicants must be available to work rostered shifts from three to six hours in duration throughout the week, including weekends and public holidays.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to use a tablet such as an iPad, have confidence in approaching strangers for interviews, and active listening skills. Experience in face-to-face data gathering, and an understanding of how research is conducted is desirable

The hourly rate for this position will be between $26 and $28.90. Your hourly rate will be set within the range to acknowledge skills, experience and relativities.

Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history and reference checking as a minimum.
