Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual eager to work in the field of research? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for a Research Nurse to coordinate and assist with the entire life cycle of clinical trials at Wellington and Hutt Hospital, from study start-up to maintenance and closure. This pivotal role supports our upcoming and existing contracts with pharmaceutical companies and ensures quality participant care, while also providing opportunities for professional growth through valuable experience and expertise

Moū - About you
We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Research for a fixed-term, part-time position (24 hours per week). In this role, you will coordinate and manage assigned clinical trials for patients whose health challenges align with the trials. All necessary clinical equipment, supplies, and training on trial-specific procedures will be provided.
Your day-to-day tasks would include:
- Recruiting patients and managing databases of potential participants for clinical trials
- Performing clinical procedures, vaccinations, clinical monitoring, administration of medications
- Assist with collection of biopsies and blood, processing, storage and transportation as required according to specific protocols according to regulations
- Adhering to safety precautions and protocols at all times and educating staff and patients accordingly
- Recording and reporting adverse events and changes in medication history
- Liaising with relevant parties to ensure patients visits are conducted as scheduled
- Supporting colleagues in a positive and effective manner
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records
Minimum requirements:
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate
- Provide effective, clinically appropriate and supportive clinical services to service users
