Residence Supervisor

Kaainga Taupua is a community residence facility located at Spring Hill Corrections Facility in Te Kauwhata. Housing up to 15 residents, this critical facility contributes directly to improved public safety, reduced reoffending and an opportunity to support the reintegration for the highest risk and most complex people subject to community based sentences and orders in the country. The facility is designed to assist individuals to develop important life skills within a supportive and supervised environment in order to successfully reintegrate into the community.
The Residential Supervisors, at Kaainga Taupua are responsible for supporting the day-to-day reintegrative needs of residents with high and complex needs. Reporting to the Residential Services Manager, you will support the culture and development of the site while mentoring and supporting our team of Assistant Supervisors.

Key to the success of this role will be your ability to supervise, motivate and influence residents while working as a part of a small team. In addition, your ability to maintain clear and professional boundaries at all times, provide practical solutions to day-to-day issues, identify risk and effectively communicate with people at all levels is essential to the success of this role.
If you pride yourself on your ability to provide a high standard of care, have proven experience working with individuals with challenging and complex needs and want to make a difference to community safety in a new way then we want to hear from you! These roles represent an excellent opportunity to join the team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa.
As we are a 24/7 service, you must be able and willing to work shifts including weekends and public holidays. You will work an average of 80 hours per fortnight, including 10 and 12-hour shifts.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate;
- Effective relationships within and outside of Corrections, with a wide range of people from all backgrounds
- Composure in demanding situations
- Experience supporting other staff to motivate residents to reduce their risk of re-offending
- Mature approach to leadership and an ability to influence others
- Proactive contribution to Corrections initiatives
- Doing the right thing in the face of pressure to do otherwise
- Experience working with people with complex needs
- A history of good performance and behaviour
- Adoption of Ara Poutama Aotearoa set of values and alignment to our Hōkai Rangi strategy.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary range for this position is $69,998 to $83,138. Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.
