He angitūtanga | About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Resource Management Planner to join the Resource Management Delivery team at DOC to help achieve our vision. We are a national team based across Hamilton, Christchurch, and Dunedin and coordinate our functions across New Zealand.

As a Resource Management Planner, you will be working with internal and external stakeholders and topic experts in resource management processes, including preparing submissions and attending hearings.

This role will be focussed on:

  • delivering quality, timely submissions and professionally managed cases relating to resources consent applications and planning documents
  • supporting regional operations staff on resource management matters
  • building and maintaining collaborative relationships internally and externally.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Hamilton office.  We are flexible to other locations, where we have DOC offices, for the right candidate.

We are looking for a motivated, passionate and qualified person that is either a graduate or with some planning experience in consenting, policy, consultancy or similar – with a genuine interest in working with others to help achieve great outcomes for conservation in the resource management area. 

If you have the following, we are keen to hear from you:

  • some, or developing, planning experience
  • sound understanding of resource management, with a desire to learn and develop your skills
  • an appropriate tertiary qualification in resource management, planning or similar
  • above all, we are looking for people who feel inspired by and connected to our DOC vision.

The salary range for this position is $79,656 to $100,639 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
