Mō te tūranga / About the role

We are seeking rural hospital medical specialists to work in both the Emergency Department and Inpatient Ward. You will be a part of a small competent and supportive team which provide 24/7 medical cover to a population of approximately 41,000. You will also have the support of other medical staff such as nurses, medical students and junior resident doctors.


koe / About you

Use your varied and broad generalist knowledge and experience to diagnose and treat your patient in ED and outpatient clinics, through to discharge or stabilise and transfer patients to the Secondary/Tertiary Hospitals when required. You’ll be within 3 months of obtaining your Rural Hospital Medicine qualification and or hold/be eligible for Specialist Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Awhe utu / Salary range

$ 142,000 to $ 267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
