We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Rural Hospital Medicine (RHM)Specialist to join our ED Department in Whanganui. Bring your medical expertise to an acute secondary care setting.
- Attractive remuneration package including a 20% base salary shift allowance
- Six weeks paid leave
- 10 days training leave and $16,000
- Supervise and participate in teaching of junior medical workforce
Mō te tūranga – About the role
Whanganui Hospital has a busy 15 bed Emergency Department, 5 bed Acute Assessment unit and 6 bed critical care unit. We have around 25,000 emergency department attendances every year. Our hospital is a 138 bed - Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) secondary hospital.
Our team is committed to providing patients with the best possible personalised care available in a small hospital, with all the benefits of having state-of-the-art technology at its disposal.
You will be joining a team of 8 SMOs where you will work 21 clinical shifts over a 6 week roster. Shift times are 0730 to 1530 1100 to 1900 and 1600 to 2400 + overnight call.
Mōu ake – About you
You will need to be a Fellow of the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (FDRHM) with an interest and experience in Emergency medicine, or a dual trained RHM/FACEM or FACEM with an interest and experience in rural hospital medicine.
You will be passionate about providing quality care in rural communities and excited to grow our Rural Hospital Medicine Programme with us.
