Salary range: $98,955 to $115,691 depending on skills and experience

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Supporting the Team Manager Border Clearance Services, the Senior Adviser Health, Safety & Wellbeing will provide advice and assistance to enable a consistent approach to operational management of health and safety that is effective and sustainable.
The primary focus of the role is to work with the region Border Clearance Services Managers to uplift health, safety and wellbeing capability and systems amongst Border Clearance Services standards and workplace practices, along with ensuring systems are in place to lead / coordinate and implement an improved approach to managing health and safety risks.
Travel will also be required to be undertaken as part of this role.
Mōu - About You
The Senior Adviser Health, Safety & Wellbeing is an operational role, so you will bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational health and safety and/or relevant operational roles within a medium to large operational organisation. You may also have previous experience in working in NZ government regulatory frameworks and operational environments.
You will have demonstrated skills and experience in the project management and experience in implementing health, safety & wellbeing initiatives. You will also have exceptional oral, written communication and presentation skills will have the ability to manage, coordinate and improve work processes involving others.
You will be recognised for your initiative, technical aptitude and sound judgement making and you will have a proven ability to multi-task in a fast past environment. Your resilience will also enable you to be able to work under pressure and can anticipate and resolve problems based on risk management principles.
Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
The role is part of the Biosecurity Central/South Team within the Border Clearance Services (BCS) directorate of Biosecurity New Zealand. BCS is accountable for ensuring the delivery of sustainable and effective frontline biosecurity clearance services at the border for imported goods, craft, mail, passengers, crew and Transitional Facilities. The operational frontline teams are based throughput the Central North Island covering Gisborne, Napier, Manawatu, Taranaki and Wellington.
