Mō te Tūranga | About The Role

Come and join our fab Insurance Team whose role is to supervise the conduct of the insurance sector using an outcomes-based approach to regulation.  The insurance sector is an evolving space for us as we continue to work on the implementation of CoFI, a programme of work you will get to support.

As a Senior Adviser, you will actively engage with insurance entities - leading meetings with senior management and regulatory affairs, conducting onsite and desk-based reviews to monitor the conduct of the insurance sector, and using your influencing skills to encourage the fair treatment of customers.

What does a day in the life of a Senior Adviser, Insurance look like?

No two days are the same here!  You could be in meetings with assigned insurers, writing feedback letters, assessing remediations or misconduct, working with other key teams on escalations or working on a project.  There's a great mix of work to keep you going and plenty of opportunities to help you develop your skills and experience in this space.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how good conduct is encouraged and monitored within the industry.  You'll drive change and influence firms to do better - with a big focus being on uplifting insurer conduct.

You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can flex accordingly. We're particularly interested to hear from those who can demonstrate the following:

  • Strong insurance sector experience (across any type of role - not just compliance) or regulatory experience.
  • A natural curiosity and an ability to think critically.
  • Top notch communication skills - both verbal & written, including the confidence to hold tough conversations at times.
  • Leadership qualities - including previous project management and ability to mentor junior team members.

We welcome your unique & diverse skills and experience, recognising we are all on a personal journey in our careers.  We don't need you to have 100%.  If this opportunity excites you, we encourage you to apply.

What is the team culture and environment like?

You'll be joining a high performing and cohesive team that always goes out of their way to support each other.  We celebrate each other but work towards a common goal.
