Te Haeata/The Opportunity

 

We are seeking an experienced and innovative digital channels specialist to drive managing improvements to the Ministry's digital channels, including our websites, intranet, and other platforms. With a particular focus on user experience and lifecycle processes, you will champion a user-centric approach to digital publishing, ensuring that our content and channels meet the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and engagement.

 

This role offers the opportunity to shape the Ministry's content strategy, working collaboratively with our Communications and Digital teams, and content creators across the organisation to develop a cohesive and forward-thinking approach to digital channels and content ownership. As the Senior Advisor, you will operationalise best practices, drive continuous improvement, and lead initiatives that support New Zealanders relying on the justice system.

 

You will also provide mentoring and coaching to uplift digital capability across the Ministry while acting as a key link between technical and strategic initiatives.

 

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

 

  • proven experience in managing digital channels initiatives that deliver measurable results in a complex environment
  • strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels
  • demonstrated expertise in mentoring and educating team members to enhance overall capability and embed best practices
  • a creative and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accessible digital content
  • a strong understanding of government communications and marketing practices, with experience working in the public sector preferred.

 

Core technical skills include:

 

  • proficiency in the management and administration of SilverStripe CMS, including lifecycle management features
  • strong skills in HTML and a thorough understanding of government web accessibility and usability standards
  • advanced expertise in Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint Communication Sites, Libraries, Planner, and other applications to enhance collaboration and workflows
  • proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and other tools for performance measurement and reporting
  • experience with Citizen Space or similar engagement platforms for digital surveys and stakeholder engagement
  • knowledge of UX design techniques, including user journey mapping and accessibility practices
  • familiarity with ADO (Azure DevOps) or similar tools for project management and workflow tracking.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

 

The salary range for this role is $97,208 to $135,539 depending on skills and experience.
