An exciting opportunity to be a key partner in the Canterbury region has come available as the Senior Advisor, Education and Health. Using your ability to shape and drive relationships you will play a key role working across agencies and alleviating barriers for our frontline to provide support to tamariki.

Mō te tūnga | About the role
The purpose of this role is to broker access to services to improve outcomes and support the Hauora (health and wellbeing) of tamariki and their whānau, particularly in health and education.
The Senior Advisor, Education and Health will work with the Commissioners and regional Managers to develop a plan to appropriately respond to the educational, health and wellbeing needs of tamariki and whānau across the region. The role also has direct relationships with Sites, relevant agencies, service providers and stakeholders.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
Key requirements of the role include:
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to strategically influence and ensure best outcomes for tamariki
• A true partner and relationship driver who engages with internal and external partners to support the alleviation of barriers for our frontline kaimahi
• Provide support to Social Workers when individual cases are escalated regionally, including those with high and complex needs, where sites have been unable to access appropriate services for tamariki and whānau
• Strong risk management experience with the ability to escalate and propose action where necessary and in particular risk barriers in relation to high and complex needs tamariki and whanau
• Ability to identify gaps and work with key stakeholders and other agencies to develop appropriate solutions
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Note: This role is based in our Canterbury region. While this role will report to the Manager Children's System based in National Office, due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role it will be beneficial for you to be based in the region to support key operational relationships. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in Canterbury or be willing to relocate to Taranaki or Manawatu for this opportunity.
