We are looking for a Senior Advisor-Crown Entity Monitoring to join the System Performance and Monitoring team at the Ministry of Justice.

Joining our team will see you working in a collaborative team environment, undertaking interesting and varied work that will advance your skills and career, while working to strengthen people's trust in the law, including New Zealand's democratic rights and institutions.

The Senior Advisor, Crown Entity Monitoring focuses on monitoring the performance of the justice crown entities and providing sound advice to the responsible Ministers. You will contribute to the lifting of the capability of justice crown entities performance over time. This includes identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation to support high quality Crown entity monitoring practice, and the provision of advice to their boards, Chief Executives and Ministers as appropriate.

Ideally, the skills and experience we are looking for include:

  • Curiosity
  • Initiative and the ability to take responsibility for your own work, recognising opportunities and act with a minimum of direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across and within organisations
  • Comfort in working in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Experience working with Ministers, Chief Executives, boards and senior executives.
  • Governance practices and procedures (board and internal).
  • Public sector investment systems and processes, including budget and accountability requirements and the use of performance information to inform decision-making.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
