Job Description

The Company:
With a mix of project management staff and development advisory consultants (circa 55 people), this is a leading development and infrastructure company with a proven track record of delivering on some of the largest projects across the country in residential, education, health, commercial, retail and hospitality to name a few.

The Role:
We are looking for a high-level Civil Engineer who will work out of the Christchurch office, mentoring the team of other Civil Engineers from a Junior-Intermediate level, Civil Designers, Technicians and CAD Drafters. On top of this, you will work with construction teams to upskill yourself in overall Project Management, being a key contact for your client base across the country. 
  
Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and assisting the team with the concept design brief
  • Planning and assigning of Engineering workload, ensuring full delivery can be achieved
  • Use CAD software with an emphasis on 12d for modelling (will consider Civil 3d)
  • Prepare proposals to present to clients on project costs and fees
  • Managing the Engineering team to ensure quality delivery on time and within budget
With the business in growth mode due to a strong forward workload - the vacancy for a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager, Principal Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Lead is malleable with the board of Directors being open to growing your new role down the path of which you prefer.

Applicants will need a proven Civil Engineering track record and portfolio working in infrastructure and/or land development projects in New Zealand. We are looking for an appropriate tertiary qualification, CPEng will be highly regarded and NZ Residency is a must.

A role that doesn't come up often, sitting as part of the Senior Leadership team for both the Christchurch and Auckland office - represent the Civil Engineering Division, and grow a team of competent staff to excellence.
