The Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) is a values-driven and place-based organisation that works alongside Mana Whenua, the community, and partners to deliver New Zealand’s largest regeneration programme in Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England. Over the life of the regeneration programme, TRC plans to redevelop approximately 2,550 social homes into 10,500 new warm, dry and affordable homes.

About the Opportunity

In this newly created 6-month Fixed Term Contract, you will provide additional support to the team as they scale up. Acting as the bridge between the Development team and the communities TRC serves, your expertise in housing and infrastructure—combined with strong stakeholder management skills—will ensure that residents, neighbors, and iwi partners are engaged, informed, and empowered throughout the planning and construction process.

You’ll be responsible for:

✔️ Leading community and stakeholder engagement for large-scale housing developments.
✔️ Translating complex project updates into clear, accessible communication.
✔️ Managing relationships with Mana Whenua and various community groups, ensuring authentic and effective collaboration.
✔️ Navigating Resource Management Act (RMA) requirements to facilitate seamless consultation processes.
✔️ Tracking project progress, gathering community insights, and ensuring feedback is integrated into decision-making.
✔️Assist with reporting and writing notification letters.

Who You Are:

You will ideally have experience in urban development or infrastructure, and be adept at navigating complex projects while ensuring alignment with community needs. A natural relationship builder, you thrive on engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration. With knowledge of RMA compliance, iwi consultation processes, and development frameworks, you bring a strategic approach to project delivery. You have experience working with Tikanga Māori, ensuring meaningful engagement and partnership. Your ability to balance project build requirements with community aspirations allows you to drive positive, sustainable outcomes that benefit all involved.
