Job Description
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We have an exciting opportunity in Te Ihuwaka (the research centre within the Education Review Office) for someone with experience leading large and complex social research and evaluation projects to join us as a Senior Manager.
Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
This role is one of three Senior Manager positions within a team of approximately 30 researchers and evaluators. Senior Managers lead research teams to deliver on ERO's busy programme of national research projects, evaluation projects, quick-turnaround insights work, and some policy services.
You will be overseeing teams to deliver across the end-to-end process, including scoping, tool design, fieldwork, analysis, reporting, publication, stakeholder management, and mobilisation of findings.
You will provide coaching and management to support the development of team members. Because our work is varied, often fast-paced, and responsive to shifts in the education sector, you have a pivotal role in modelling calm, positive, and resilient adaptability and decision-making. You will be able to focus on solutions, positives, and opportunities, and to support junior members of the team to be agile too and to thrive under your guidance.
As part of our leadership team, you will work collaboratively to oversee Te Ihuwaka's overall work programme and actively support the development of a high-performance culture upholding the values of ERO. You will report to one of two Directors within Te Ihuwaka and be responsible for five to ten direct reports.
We are a supportive and friendly team, with diverse experience and backgrounds, who are motivated and engaged in our work. We have cultivated a friendly and highly supportive culture, with an enjoyable sense of collective effort and collective celebration of our successes.
Excitingly, this is a social research setting where we relentlessly focus on, and achieve, real-world impacts. Our work doesn't ‘sit on a shelf'; it gets to the decision-makers and into the world.
See our website www.evidence.ero.govt.nz to better understand our work.
This is an office-based role, in central Wellington.
