Our community Occupational Therapy service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team. The 0.8 FTE role will be based from our Waitakere Hospital community hub, incorporating both leadership and community based clinical practice within the West Auckland Area.
We are ideally looking for someone who has experience in working in a community physical setting, providing standardised and informal occupational performance assessments, remedial and compensatory interventions including; rehabilitation interventions, equipment solutions, housing modifications and wheelchair and seating interventions. Ideally you will have proven skills to provide leadership and clinical excellence within the community Occupational Therapy team whilst working as part of an Inter-Disciplinary Team.
As a senior Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for providing day to day leadership to the wider community Occupational Therapy team. You will have the opportunity to support with service development and quality improvement, whilst practicing clinically within a community based setting. You will have support and opportunity to liaise closely with your Community Occupational Therapy Clinical Leader, Allied Health Team Manager and Professional Clinical Leader for Occupational Therapy in addition to opportunities for connection with other Senior Clinicians within the Occupational Therapy and Allied Health services.
You must be a New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and be motivated and passionate about quality improvement. You will also have experience in supporting staff, students and service development.
