About the team
The Talent and Capability team is a centre of excellence responsible for the design and delivery of organisation wide programmes and initiatives that attract, retain, and develop a diverse and high performing workforce.
The team designs and delivers initiatives that shape a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive workplace. This builds the skills of our workforce, drives performance, and enhances organisational culture and capability through onboarding, talent development, leadership development, and learning programs.
The Opportunity

- Contemporary talent management and succession planning practices that inform the design of Transpower's leadership development programmes.
You'll enjoy collaborating closely with our HR Business Partners to foster high-performing teams aligned with our strategy and objectives.
What will you bring?
~Five years in an organisational development or capability focused role (this could be as a Principal Advisor or HR Business Partner).
You'll have selected and used organisational development models and practices, and love building positive relationships with staff and managers at all levels.
We are a scaling, data driven, technical organisation, so you'll be comfortable making commercially astute recommendations based on evidence and best practice principles.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
- Depth of practice and examples of delivering positive organisational outcomes, underpinned with a tertiary degree in HR or a related field such as Psychology.
- Demonstrable experience with crafting, developing, or sourcing and implementing organisational development and learning and development programmes, initiatives, and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders through data and metrics and facilitate engaging workshops for all levels.
- A track record of delivering impactful work at pace, coupled with curiosity about the future of contemporary organisational development and improving employee experience.
- Metrics/measures of positive change/business results, as an outcome of your mahi.
While Wellington is the preferred location for this role, candidates based in a Transpower office location in Auckland, Palmerston North, or Christchurch who are prepared to travel fortnightly to Wellington will be considered.
