Job Description

I am recruiting for an experienced (‘big P’ policy) Senior Policy Advisor to work in a fast paced, high-profile programme.
 
This is a permanent position based in Wellington.
 
You’ll join a small team, working on a fast-paced, high-profile programme, working together to drive the core policy work forward – cabinet papers, RIS, Consultation process, Discussion docs, sector engagement – in a regulatory policy setting.

Required experience:

  • experienced Senior Policy Advisor (ideally suits a ‘senior’ Senior Advisor, but absolute minimum 2 years’ experience at Senior Advisor level)
  • Strength in core Big P Policy, ie, experience from within central govt agencies, providing policy advice to a Minister.
  • Proven experience producing Cabinet Papers & RIS; and understands those processes
  • Experience & comfort in translating complex technical info, into Cabinet Papers & RIS & Discussion docs
  • Familiar with upholding an agency’s obligations as a Treaty partner.

Seeking someone to work full time hours, ideally. Due to the nature of the work, the ability to be office-based in Wellington at least 3 days/week is necessary. There is generally some flex to WFH a couple of days/week.
