  • Lead the development of project, programme and portfolio level analysis and reporting for presentation to Senior leaders.
  • Bring your understanding of P3M practice and expertise in data modelling and presentation, to support strategic commentary across DOC's investment portfolio.
  • Become a power user of bespoke in house-built Microsoft project management tool and support others use of the tool.
  • Permanent full-time opportunity, Wellington based.

He angitūtanga | About the role

You will primarily be involved in pulling together P3M data and insights across the portfolio to support reporting and use your knowledge and experience to support the EPMO function as  the Business Owner of our project management tool. You'll also be part of:

  • collating and analysing information for our investment governance group
  • providing data and insights to inform portfolio prioritisation and pipeline planning
  • providing support to users to ensure they get the best out of using the tool, as a power user of our project management tool
  • working with EPMO colleagues to improve and enhance the frameworks, processes, and templates that support the PMF
  • ensuring our project management tool is fit for purpose and managing the backlog of improvements with our technology colleagues
  • supporting information gathering for the portfolio related to OIA's, Annual Review, Select Committee and Estimates questions.

 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • You will have a minimum of three years experience with analytical work that requires distillation of data into information for multiple stakeholders.
  • You have a structured understanding of project delivery gained through two to three years working in a project delivery environment.
  • Experience in analysing, interpreting, troubleshooting and applying problem-solving techniques using good judgment.
  • Intermediate skills (with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Power BI).
  • You will have experience and understanding of the machinery of government and associated reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must, with the ability to manage relationships with ease.
  • You'll be adaptable, organised and able to manage multiple projects at any given time.

At DOC, we are building our capability within our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). The team are the custodians of the project management frameworks, project management tool and manage the assurance of key documentation for projects and programmes. We have a significant number of projects and programmes underway at any one time across digital, business change, infrastructure and property projects.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 to $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
