Job Description

Volpara’s Mission is to reduce the mortality and cost of breast cancer by providing clinically validated software that underpins personalized, high-quality breast cancer screening.

Volpara’s screening technology enables radiologists to quantify breast tissue with precision and helps technologists produce mammograms with optimal image quality, positioning, compression, and dose.

Role Overview:
Join the team as a Senior Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in developing and supporting the risk pathways software. This technology allows people to complete a questionnaire which is run through a risk model to provide insight on somebody’s likelihood of developing cancer.

This position requires a strong full stack understanding with a focus on the back end with technologies including security, networking, and server management. Experience within structured and regulated environments such as banking and financial services would be preferred.

Volpara have an office based in Wellington and also have people working remotely throughout NZ.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust systems ensuring high security and performance standards.
  • Analyze user needs and contribute to software design and architecture within a regulated framework.
  • Ensure compliance with financial sector standards and security protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for our product development teams and users of this software.
  • Provide support to clients using this software so must be comfortable having a client facing aspect
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, adhering to strict quality assurance and documentation processes.

Qualifications:

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in software development
  • Experience in highly regulated or compliance-focused environments
  • Proficient in technologies including .NET and Microsoft SQL (must have)
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, IT or engineering (computing science major).
  • Any experience with Angular, React, and C++ would be nice to have
  • Cloud experience in Azure would be preferred but other cloud technologies would suffice (must have)
  • Other preferred experience includes Linux, Python, DICOM, FHIR, and HL7
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
