Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
As a Senior Support Officer, you will be responsible for performing and supporting the daily management of financial processing functions within the Financial Accounting team, with a focus on the Purchasing function for the Ministry. In this role you will be actively collaborating and engaging with colleagues across the business to ensure the team meets its objectives and drive continuous improvements in our financial systems and processes.
- Manage daily financial processing tasks, including Purchasing, Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolving queries, anomalies, and reconciling items promptly
- Train and support internal stakeholders on the procure-to-pay process, maintain user documentation, and promote best procurement practices
- Assist with month-end and year-end process, workflow management, and responding to internal and external requests, including audits and official inquiries
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification in finance is desirable
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent relationship management skills – able to establish, build and maintain respectful, effective working relationships with all stakeholders to accomplish goals and support other team members
- Experience with Oracle or similar accounting software
- Computer literate with excellent excel skills
