About the role
The areas of responsibility for this role are Allied Health Unit, Older Persons Health, and Inpatient and Community Rehabilitation based at Dunedin Hospital and Wakari Hospital.
This role will lead and manage assigned services to provide an efficient effective, equitable and safe patient care within the available resources across the Southern District of Health New Zealand.
The Service Manager is responsible for service delivery processes, including management of financial performance, activity and production planning, health targets, human resource management, quality and risk management, certification and accreditation, clinical pathway development and other service delivery improvements within the services. Working in partnership with clinical and other staff, the Service Manager will contribute to strategic and operational management in a way that is consistent with the organisation's vision and values.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- A tertiary qualification within health or another relevant field
- Proven experience in managing budgets and staff
- Previous experience leading teams in a clinical environment
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
