My client is a leading tier 1 civil contractor specializing in major infrastructure projects across New Zealand. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has positioned them as a key player in the civil and infrastructure sector. Currently, they are embarking on a major joint venture project where they are responsible for the construction of two large bridges. Due to an unforeseen relocation they are now seeking a talented Site Agent to head up the structures team on this project.
Position Overview
As the Site Agent, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the construction of two large bridges as part of a major 2-year project. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of structural engineering, ensuring the successful delivery of these critical infrastructure components. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of New Zealand’s infrastructure while working with a dynamic and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bridge team in the planning and construction phases of the project
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of the bridges while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project objectives
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering challenges during construction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience with a leading civil contractor.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent focus on health & safety
- Extensive experience of temporary works and crane utilisation on bridge construction projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, and resources to deliver projects on time and within budget
