Job Description
The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the Digital Identity workstream of Te Ara Manaaki on a fixed-term basis.
This pivotal role will drive the development and deployment of digital identity solutions that enhance the way New Zealanders interact with government services.
You’ll work closely with service design colleagues to review current processes, perform gap analyses, and present findings to senior leadership. Your work will directly contribute to our goal of creating accessible, secure, and user-friendly digital identity solutions for New Zealanders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement business analysis best practices to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Conduct gap analysis between current and desired states, presenting insights to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to oversee requirements gathering, specification development, and implementation.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure business needs are met through proactive involvement across all project phases.
About You:
- Extensive experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within digital identity, transformation, or large-scale government projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in gap analysis, business process mapping, and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps and project lifecycle management tools is highly desirable.
- NZ citizenship is an essential requirement for this role.
