About the Role
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in our Whangarei based Raranga Tahi Health and Addictions team as a Social Worker alongside our Te Ake Whai Ora NGO partner Te Awhi Whanau. This is a part time position working 32 hours per week.
In this role, you will improve safety and quality of care for Tāngata Whaiora and their Whānau accessing Te Whatu Ora mental health and addiction services and to assist in the enhancement of culturally responsive services for Māori to improve health outcomes for Māori. You will provide an efficient service in the community for Tāngata Whaiora, their Whānau and community agencies within a defined service provision population.

Key requirements
- Current registration with NZ Social Workers Registration Board
- Current full Drivers Licence
- Ability to advocate for Tāngata Whaiora cultural needs appropriately
- Working knowledge of key adult issues and psychopathology
- Experience working with individuals and families with diverse needs
Previous experience of working with people with mental health challenges would be an advantage, however if you haven't worked in this area and you possess a positive, proactive outlook and are a team player, we would love to hear from you as we provide a comprehensive training and education package.
