About the Role
We are looking for a New Zealand Registered Social Worker to join our small team of enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated multidisciplinary professionals. We have a great working relationship with District Nursing, Complex Clinical Care Network, Rural Nurse Specialists, and other community services across the West Coast. The role also links closely with our hospital multidisciplinary team ensuring the transition from home to hospital and back home again is well supported.
As a Social Worker you will be responsible for providing appropriate and effective psychosocial assessment, intervention, monitoring and evaluation to clients.
Whilst no day is the same
typically you will be in the community alongside other physical and mental
health professionals with clients of all ages. Supporting them and
their whānau through their health journey. Advocating, providing
emotional care and practical solutions to clients.

About You
We are seeking a committed Social Worker to join our team in this part time permanent 0.8FTE position. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Registration with the Social Work Registration Board of NZ
- A current certificate of competency to practice Social Work
- Social work experience within health preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to relate and communicate clearly with a range of healthcare professionals, patients and colleagues
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Self-motivation and enthusiasm
- A full driver's licence
Desirable:
- Experience working within the New Zealand Health system
- Experience working in rural community
- Experience working in an Interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards
