Consultant Anaesthetist - START NOW!

3.66 FTE, Permanent (3 Positions)

We have 3 vacancies for enthusiastic Consultant Anaesthetist’s to join our dynamic, forward thinking department of 16 consultants. We are expanding our services and department. With the FTE expansion we intend to review our on call commitments and frequency with a view to improving your work/life balance.

We have full time and part time positions available. The start date is as soon as practical, and negotiable for the right applicant.

A full time role has a commitment of 6 clinical sessions per week and 3 non clinical sessions. In addition to this we cover an after hour's roster that looks after normal Anaesthetic work and our level 2 ICU.

Applicants must have completed their specialist training (preferably FANZCA +/­ FCICM) and be eligible to obtain provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

We cover a range of regional hospital specialties, running one acute and 4 elective theatres a day. In addition, we cover acute pain, birthing unit, MRI, trauma calls, pre assessment clinic etc. Experience in Intensive Care Medicine is strongly desirable, formal qualification(s) in ICU would be extremely attractive to us, but are not a requirement. We have many other areas of non-clinical interest that we would be interested in discussing.
