Specialist Cardiac Sonographer – Clinical Tutor Trainee Cardiac Sonographers

Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā District is a major provider of healthcare services in the Northern and Western Districts of Auckland, New Zealand with a catchment population of over 640,000. We are an organisation growing in many areas and have experienced considerable growth at both our major hospital sites, North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals.
The Cardiology Department are seeking a Specialist Cardiac Sonographer to develop and lead an internal training programme that meets the learning needs and national registration requirements of our Trainee Cardiac Sonographers. Working closely with the Team Leaders and Clinical Director, the successful applicant will provide clinically focussed training and support to the team, ensuring the service and care provided is safe, effective, and patient-centred.
Our ideal applicant will have:
- A Cardiac Ultrasound qualification acceptable for registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified Cardiac Sonographer
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising students in a clinical field
Preference will be given to candidates with experience mentoring or tutoring Cardiac Sonographers, as well as holders of Adult Education, Management, or Masters qualifications.
