About the Role

If you enjoy Paediatric Speech Language Therapy we have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly dedicated Child Development Team based in Tauranga.  This is a 0.4 FTE position working 16 hours per week. 

In this role you will be engaging with children experiencing disability and their families, sharing your expertise and support in their home and pre-school.  This position required a person who has worked in paediatrics and has at least three to five years general clinical experience.

About You

  • To be eligible for New Zealand Speech Therapy Association (NZSTA) membership
  • A Batchelors or Masters Degree in Speech Language Therapy from an NZSTA accredited programmel or have had your qualifications approved by the NZSTA
  • Experience performing and interpreting video fluoroscopy swallowing
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team working towards patient focused goals
  • A current valid full New Zealand drivers licence
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings. 

The successful candidate will need a sound knowledge of the use of informal and formal assessment tools, excellent verbal and written skills, the ability to work well within a team to achieve client and Whānau focused goals and a focus on evidence.
