The Sports Tribunal is an independent body which decides on a variety of national and often topical sports disputes such as anti-doping and selection disputes. The Registrar plays an integral part in supporting the Chairman of the Sports Tribunal and provides high-quality registrar services to various stakeholders such as national sport organisations, athletes, counsels, the Minister for Sport and Recreation, and Sport NZ Group’s Boards and Senior Leadership Teams.
We are looking for a bright and organised professional who ideally has five-plus years’ post admission to the bar legal experience (ideally in litigation, for a regulatory agent or disputes related), or a candidate who has proven experience of working closely with Boards and other executives. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong initiative and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoy a variety of work and be an excellent multitasker
- Proven experience of providing legal advice or working closely with Boards
- Superb interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
- Fantastic written communication and sound judgement
- High attention to detail and are used to managing your own caseload.
