Drake Medox is a well-respected agency that has been operating in New Zealand for over 50 years, we provide services to people in our community with long term injuries and disabilities. Our aim is to support our clients to live independently as possible in their own environment.
We are currently looking for full-time Support Workers to support a client with a brain injury, high and complex health care needs, which includes challenging behaviour. Client is based in Palmerston North and requires 24/7 support.
As a Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting the client with various tasks, including household activities, daily personal cares, medication administration, accessing community facilities, going shopping, meeting friends, and attending medical appointments.

Skills and attributes required:
* Empathy for others
* Resilience in dealing with challenging behaviour
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deescalate challenging situations
* A positive can-do attitude towards personal learning and development
* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Requirements:
* Full Drivers license and own vehicle essential
* Must have experience in supporting clients with brain injuries and speech defects
* Minimum Level 2 NZQA Qualification in Health and Well-being
* Must be currently in New Zealand with correct entitlement to commence work
