Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Systems Administrator - Work-Integrated Learning to join the Centre for Academic Development team in a permanent, full-time role.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Work with the vendor to configure and establish a university instance of the InPlace work-integrated learning system
- Maintain and administer the InPlace work-integrated learning system, following Digital Solutions policies and processes, including system configuration, database and reference data management, security and user policies and procedures
- Ensure procedures and good practice documentation are up to date for all users across all disciplinary areas, with consistent terminology and detailed data entry protocols, consistent with Digital Solutions processes and policies
- Liaise with the Application Support team within Digital Solutions for technical support around the system
- Set up users and manage the onboarding of users to InPlace
- Provide training, support and guidance to users, both academic and professional staff
- Work with school and faculty staff to support uptake and to develop and foster good practice around the use of the InPlace system
- Support the Principal Adviser, Learning and Teaching in establishing effective policy and processes around WIL
- Support the work of the Implementation Lead - WIL in supporting staff capability around WIL practice
- Be a key support of the technical and process implementation of the WIL system (InPlace) at the University
- Support the establishment of the new WIL Hub at the University to ensure this Hub becomes an easily identifiable single point of contact for Faculty staff and external stakeholders in relation to all WIL activities

Key requirements include the following:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or career specific experience
- Five plus years in IT support or system administration, or a similar role
- Solid understanding of standard technology system administration practices, including release management, software updates, and issue resolution
- Demonstrated experience of building and maintaining excellent stakeholder/client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to deliver effective training to users, including development of training materials
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset
- Knowledge of privacy principles and best practices
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
