He angitūtanga | About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to guide a team and drive outstanding service delivery. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for handling level one people and culture support request including enquiries from our people and leaders, processing tasks, and effectively triaging and directing service requests to the appropriate teams.

This newly created role will lead our People & Culture Support team, designed to streamline access to P&C services for the DOC whānau and ensure a smooth and positive employee experience throughout their journey. Your team will serve as the primary point of contact for service requests, addressing enquiries and helping our people navigate self-service tools for a more efficient, responsive service. Additionally, you will oversee various transactional processes to improve both speed and quality.

If you have the following skills and experience, we are keen to hear from you:

  • Proven ability to lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Strong understanding of current HR best practices and employment legislation.
  • Experienced with successfully introducing new systems and processes and embedding their use. Experience with HRIS systems and digital workflows, such as Service Now, is highly beneficial.
  • A strong interest in customer and user experience to support the design and implementation of our new service model.
  • Knowledge of the Māori Crown relationship, with a commitment to ensuring co-design with Māori when required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to review complex information and deliver solutions.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 - $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
