About the Role

As a Team Leader , you will be involved with ongoing service development for 2 houses that will allow you to use your expertise and skills.  You will be an integral part of the team, providing support and leadership, as well as pro-active day-to-day support to enable the people you support to live safely and be actively involved in their community.

While your roster will usually be 7.00AM to 3.30PM, Monday to Friday, we work with flexibility over 7 days including afternoon and weekend work.  You - ll work your 80 hours in the fortnight in negotiation with your Group Leader.

Our goal is to embed Enabling Good Lives in our daily practices. Dependent on the role you may be on roster, partially on roster or off roster but always available to be hands on when needed.

It is fixed term for 9 months covering parental leave.

About the Team/Service/ Location

We have an experienced Team that will be there to support you in this role and who have many collective years - experience, in supporting the flatmates in each house.  You will have access to a Service Lead who is in Blenheim and whom you will meet with on a regular basis. The houses are 1.5 kilometres apart and you will have office space in both locations.

About you

As a Team Leader, you will have:

  • inspiring leadership skills and a strong commitment to the principles of person-centred support,
  • hold a minimum NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), or an equivalent health or disability related qualification as assessed by the Ministry of Health (see link below)
  • sound knowledge of Person-Centred support
  • good time management skills

Experience working in the field of disability would be advantageous.
