Enterprise Partnerships cover a range of entities, functions or institutions. Today these currently include the National Library, Archives New Zealand, Ministerial Services, and the Gambling Commission. Each 'enterprise' has its own unique kaupapa, and through its 'partnership' with Te Tari Taiwhenua, will be supported to achieve their goals. The nature of each partnership will depend on the goals and needs of the entity.

Whakapapa is all about recording important information that helps to paint a detailed picture of how life is and how life was, and we make that information available to everyone. We are passionate about this country and the people that call it home.

Archives New Zealand Te Rua Mahara o Te Kāwanatanga is the regulator of government information. We enable the ongoing creation, preservation, protection and accessibility of the trusted public record. We are in a period of exciting change as we prepare to move to our new building in Wellington in 2025.

You will manage our talented team of Archives Support Assistants, Business Support Administrators and Receptionist to support our customers and our services across a range of duties. Some of the tasks the Operational Support team perform include customer service, administrative support, repository work and archival description work.

As a Team Leader, you will be both a planner and a people leader, as well as being willing to pitch in when needed. You will bring:

  • The ability to manage a diverse team, providing operational leadership with a hands-on approach
  • A focus on delivering great outcomes for customers, both internal and external
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, always looking for ways to make things better
  • Support for your team as we navigate exciting change and new opportunities through the transition into the Heritage Campus
  • The ability to contribute to the strategic and operational outcomes of Te Rua Mahara, as a member of the Archives Leadership Cohort
  • Experience in a repository, warehouse, archives or library environment would be an advantage.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute, and lead your team's contribution, in the exciting work to move to our new building. This will establish a heritage campus, which will be shared with our colleagues in the National Library, Alexander Turnbull Library and Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision. This work will include contributing to the development of new processes and ways of working, as well as providing subject matter expertise in operational support.

This role is a fixed-term position through to 30 June, 2025. It is based in the Wellington office of Te Rua Mahara and requires kaimahi to work primarily onsite.
