  • Based within our Clinical Services team  at Te Pou Herenga Waka (Multi Agency Centre), Manukau
  • Competitive salary starting from $125,926 - $139,459, depending on experience

In this role, you will be a part of the Clinical Services Leadership team. You'll be providing effective and dynamic clinical and professional leadership and oversight to a team of Psychologists, Therapists and a workplace administrator

 

About the role | Mō te tūnga 

This role will see you leading and applying psychological services primarily for tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau who have been referred or consulted about by our Social Workers within our Clinical Services team.

  • Ensuring the Clinical Services team provides high quality and timely consultations, assessments, and interventions for our clients in line with practice and ethical guidelines
  • You'll be acting as a psychology resource person to the team and wider organisation
  • Promoting and coordinating professional development in conjunction with the Clinical Services Leadership team
  • Develop and maintain a culture of respect, cooperation, best practice and staff safety within the Clinical Services team
  • Liaising with culturally appropriate agencies and resources ensuring the development and delivery of culturally appropriate specialist services
  • Maintaining and developing reliable and useful systems of recording referral and other data

 

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

  • Masters or Doctoral degree with Psychologist post graduate training is required
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture 
  • Must be registered as a Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists' Board and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • A postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Child and Family, Neuropsychological, Counselling or Educational Psychology is required
  • Must have additional post-graduate training in working with children, young people and adults who have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma
  • Completed training in a recognised supervisor programme
  • A clean, current driver's licence is essential and a willingness to drive Oranga Tamariki vehicles
  • Must have practiced competently as a Psychologist for at least 5 years post-graduation
  • Preferably experience of acting in a team leader/manager role previously
  • Tact and diplomacy in handling information in a discreet and sensitive manner
  • Highly competent oral and written skills (including able to write proposals, review and feedback on clinically written material). High level of computer literacy
