Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Waka Kotahi Safety Camera System team as a Team Leader.

As a leader for our Enforcement Officers, you'll play an important role for the team who provide comprehensive advice and education to customers to uphold their compliance with the land transport system.

You will be a motivated leader with a passion for leading and coaching a high performing team to deliver great outcomes. We are looking for someone who will keep customers at the heart of everything we do and support the implementation of new business process in an operation environment.

The team operates Monday to Friday with shifts between 7.55am - 6pm.

Training

You'll need to be available full time between 8am - 4.30pm, for 4 weeks training starting on Tuesday 21 January 2025.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong leadership skills with proven track record of achieving results through people and ensuring key performance objectives are met
  • Proven experience in building people capability, including coaching, mentoring and managing performance development plans
  • Proven experience in sound decision making and complaints management
  • Ability to work under pressure with high level of resilience and autonomy
  • Effective and timely problem-solving ability
  • Displays a high level of customer focus, understands customer service excellence within a Regulatory environment


You will also be required to obtain and maintain Enforcement Officer Certification.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
