Te Haeata/The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen in Judicial Libraries/He puna mātauranga ture for the role of Team Manager Publishing. Primarily you will be responsible for leading the team responsible for the timely, accurate and legally safe publication of the decisions of all courts and many tribunals to Ministry websites, making them available to the public. This includes:

  • Liaising with the judiciary and their staff regarding the publication of decisions and the ongoing support and development of the applications that enable this
  • Developing and organising the team to ensure an effective and efficient delivery of the service with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders across the Courts, the wider Ministry and externally
  • Active participation in the Judicial Libraries/He puna mātauranga ture leadership team to ensure the strategic directions of the Ministry and Judiciary are met.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A qualification in law
  • Ability to read, understand and apply legislation and other complex information
  • Experience leading a team
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand criminal justice sector and the courts
  • Knowledge of New Zealand's constitutional arrangements and the independence of the judiciary
  • Knowledge of sentencing principles and their application
  • Excellent IT skills, specifically database management and development skills
  • Sound judgement and excellent communication skills, coupled with diplomacy
  • Proven experience in service delivery

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
