At the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, our mission is to protect and enhance Aotearoa New Zealand's security and wellbeing. We provide Signals Intelligence and Cyber Security and resilience to organisations of national significance to successfully navigate in an unpredictable world.
Our Technology and Data Directorate serves the GCSB, NZSIS and the wider NZIC. As a key member of our Branch you will be part of a team that is shaping and delivering new digital collaboration and SharePoint capabilities and services for the wider NZ Intelligence Community.
The role
A core function of your role will be the administration, development, and integration of SharePoint with other systems and services to maximise productivity and improve user experience for our people. You will work closely with your immediate team, as well as other Technical Specialists and wider NZIC stakeholders, to create custom solutions that meet the needs of the business.
You will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team who foster good relationships between the wider group and its leaders. You will also have the opportunity to share your skills and expertise and contribute to the development, mentoring and training of other team members.
Who we are looking for
This is a new role so your energy, pragmatism, learning mind-set, and customer focus will be key to your success.
You will have experience in developing and administering SharePoint sites in complex environments, requirements gathering and use acceptance testing, and have experience or knowledge of Java Script, JSON, PowerShell, HTML and API's.
The role will also require you to be confident in your ability to build tools and develop solutions to enhance functionality and/or improve user experience, in addition to developing workflows and solutions to resolve problems.
We want to hear from you if you:
- Have 3-6 years of experience working with SharePoint
- Enjoy helping others and have the desire to see them succeed
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have an ability to build strong relationships with, and get buy-in from, technical experts and business stakeholders

Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
