About the Role

We are offering an experienced medical Transcriptionist the opportunity to join a highly skilled, supportive and fun team based in Tauranga. This is a permanent full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight.  After being in the role for 6 months there is an option to work from home on some days.

This role provides high quality and accurate typewritten material and ensures compliance and operational use of all Hospital medical typing processes. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Transcriptionist's are committed to providing an exception service to our clinicians, health professionals, patients and whānau.

The team consists of 27 Transcriptionists based across both Tauranga and Whakatāne hospital sites.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and motivated medical Transcription who excels under pressure while maintaining professionalism.

  • Previous experience in the New Zealand healthcare sector
  • Competent with transcription
  • Minimum typing speed of 70wpm with 85% accuracy rate
  • Specific administration duties
  • Editing/formatting typed letter
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

High standards of quality care and the ability to meet turnaround timeframes within the service are key drivers for this role.
