The Opportunity:
Gain valuable real-life experience & insights as a senior nurse while working within the Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) team at Counties Manukau District. The VIP Coordinator will be developing and supporting the Ministry of Health outcomes from this National programme. The role will have a close interface with the Child Protection Service which will support the annual audits required by the Ministry of Health and work in partnership with the VIP Coordinator. You will support the process of “routine inquiry” for Intimate partner violence (IPV) in the designated clinical areas where staff has completed the mandatory 8-hour face-to-face training. Education and training will be essential components to this exciting and innovative role, that allows for engagement and support of staff in clinical areas. Formal reports required by the MoH every 6 months will capture the expected outcomes of auditing, training, and engagement with our workforce. This senior role will collaborate and provide expert consultation and guidance on the dynamics of IPV to support optimal outcomes for our patients.
The successful applicant will be equity driven and able to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including Maaori and Pacific teams. Support for this role will be from both internal networks as well as connections to a regional and national coalition.
Essential:
- NZ Registered Nurse and hold a current APC
- At least 5+ years clinical experience
- Full, drivers licence
- Knowledge of family violence and child protection issues
